 Divine justice.

WHAT HAS HINDERED YOUR CAREER?
Red wine.

BORN?
Minneapolis Minnesota, USA born and raised.

EARLIEST MUSICAL MEMORY?
Listening to early Beatles albums under the crack of my older
sister's  bedroom door.

FIRST RECORD YOU OWNED?

LP- Taj Mahal "Ooh So Good 'n' Blues" 45- Edgar Winter Group  "Free
Ride"

FIRST PERFORMANCE?
Stupid late 1970's junior high school basement party. Beer, pot, ugly
  clothes, bad hair, worse music!

 SINGLE BIGGEST MUSICAL INFLUENCE?
Bob Dylan. I'm a Jew from Minnesota, what are you gonna do?

MOST MEMORABLE CONCERT YOU'VE ATTENDED?
Hard to pick one, but when I was 14 I saw the Who (Keith Moon's last
tour). It was general admission and I got to the 3rd row. I think it was memorable partly because I was so young and easily influenced but also because they were such a powerful live band at that time.

WORST JOB YOU'VE EVER HAD?
Cooking burgers by the pool for rich kids at a country club when I was 15. Got myself fired. I won't say how.

 BEST JOB YOU'VE EVER HAD?
Being a songwriter.

FAVOURITE ARTIST (ALL MEDIA)?
Impossible question because even artists I love do bad work at least
SOME of the time. Let's go with Bob Dylan again, same reason as above!

FAVOURITE BOOK
100 Years Of Solitude (Gabriel Garcia Marquez)

FAVOURITE INSTRUMENT?
To play- guitar. To listen to- guitar and cello.

FAVOURITE SONG YOU'VE WRITTEN?
The one I finished most recently. It will change tomorrow. One that
always comes back is "Leaving To Stay" however. Jonny Lang covered it on his "Wander This World" album and I have my own version (which Jonny added some guitar to) on my "Restoration" CD.

FAVOURITE SONG SOMEONE ELSE HAS WRITTEN?
hmmmm. Today, it would have to be "Juanita" by Gram Parsons. Subject
to change via mood swings, though....

HAVE YOU COLLABORATED IN SONGWRITING?
Most of my writing for the last couple of years has been
collaborative with the artist who is going to cut the song.

IS SONGWRITING  TAUGHT OR IS IT GOD-GIVEN?
Some can be taught, or improved upon. Some is give, but I'm not sure
if by God or the Devil, or probably a little bit of both.

WHAT HAS HELPED YOU MOST IN YOUR CAREER?
Producer David Z decided to use one of my songs on Kenny Wayne
Shepherd's debut album "Ledbetter Heights". That song "Riverside" was my first cut and my first gold record, strangely enough because it is a very dark, strange and psychedelic type of thing. That first break helped the most. Also, my wife Ruth has helped a ton by keeping me together, telling me when I'm full of shit, encouraging me, etc.

WHAT HAS HINDERED YOUR CAREER?
My own narrow-mindedness and stubborn lack of willingness to change,
adapt, keep my eye on the big picture. The best thing you can do any day is to shut up and write.

FAVOURITE DRINK?
Water. Root Beer.

FAVOURITE POLITICIAN?
Harry S. Truman

LATEST DISC?
"Restoration", which is our debut release mixes punky, twanged-out
roots rock with singer/songwriter sensibilities. It's a true labor of love featuring guest shots by Jonny Lang and Shannon Curfman. If you like Steve Earle, The Byrds, The Replacements or anything in between you might want to check it out at www.kevinbowe.simplenet.com I have written songs with/for Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Leo Kottke, Peter Case, Chuck Prophet, Shannon Curfman, Delbert McClinton and others but this is what I do on my own time.

KEN GLIDEWELL
(BIG IN IOWA)

MARTIN HAGFORS
(HOME GROAN)

BORN?
I was born in Oxford, OH in McCollugh-Hyde Hospital. My Grandmother
actually made the curtains for the place when it was built. Oxford is the home of Miami of Ohio (University) both of my Grandparents worked there and had a farm just outside this small college town. My dad was farming when I was born, and many of my cousins and relatives farm in the Ohio/Indiana region. My dad moved to Hamilton, OH after taking a job at Mosler Safe Co, and got his degree in business from the University of Cincinnati. I grew up in this small town, filled with an interesting mix of working class and professional people not to mention what a friend of mine calls "The Uncivilized People" the ones who would rather fight than fuck¦ and would rather drink than work. The most interesting thing about Hamilton's past is that it was a bootlegger's haven During prohibition, nicknamed "Little Chicago" because of it's corruption in the day. It was known as a place folks like John Dillinger would hide out while the heat was on In the big city. It became famous for mob style killings, ruffians and criminals and I would venture to say not much has changed in certain respects.

EARLIEST MUSICAL MEMORY?
My musical memories start with my Aunt Vivian who never married. She
sang and played piano in Church every week. She also made sure that I went to with her every Sunday for 13 years!! I had a college age aunt that used to drive my brother and I around In her Pontiac Bonneville Convertible and let us listen to the hot hits and rock stations In the area. My Grandfather listened to WLW-AM that played "HOT WAX" hits from the 50's and WPFB that had a crazy DJ named Moon Mullins that played Bluegrass and Traditional Country music. The first records I listened to belonged to my mother who had lots of Elvis, Carl Perkins, and other pop artists. My dad was a big Johnny Cash and Hee-Haw fan (Buck Owens and Roy Clark).

FIRST RECORD YOU OWNED?
The result of all this??? The first record I ever bought was Black Oak Arkansas Live.Musta been teenage rebellion. Oh, and I hated disco.

FIRST PERFORMANCE?
Langdon's Lounge was my first performance. The village of New Miami, I played in a
Rock cover band and had to sing a few songs. We played a lot there, a friend of mine's Cousin was killed there by the bartender, shot for pulling his gun first. It was an interesting introduction to the business, to say the least.

 SINGLE BIGGEST MUSICAL INFLUENCE?
I don't believe anyone can site just one musical influence, and that it changes as time goes by. I can tell you who I like John Fogerty, Mellencamp, Springsteen, Johnny Cash, right now Billy Joe Shaver, Junior Brown. I think John Hiatt is great, Lonnie Mack is a guy I used to love to sneak into bars and see when I was underage. I liked The Stones, The Who, Rod Stewart before he got ruined in the 70's. I think Paul Rodgers is a great Rock singer, and Led Zeppelin is still a great band, even though I cannot stand to hear certain songs anymore because of overkill on the radio. The blues are important to me as well. Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, Robert Lockwood Jr, the list is too long to put here.

MOST MEMORABLE CONCERT YOU'VE ATTENDED?

Memorable concert. It's hard to remember them all but there are some highlights The WHO , Cincinnati, one of the greatest rock shows I ever saw. Yeah, that Who Show, The Beat Farmers, Louisville Ky, and San Diego, I loved that band and Country Dick Mojo Nixon and Dread Zeppelin, Cincinnati, OH Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bogarts Cincinnati, OH first tour on the Texas Flood Album..THEY GAVE AWAY ALL THE TICKETS!! The Dixie Dregs.Bogarts, Cincinnati, OH The Godfathers¦.The Screaming Blue Messiahs, Jason & The Scorchers all at BOGARTS in one year. Lyle Lovett, anywhere, anytime always great I'm sure that there's another one or two, but Oh The Replacements before they signed to a major in Columbus, OH¦.Their stuff and covers from Kiss and Vanity Fair.

FAVOURITE INSTRUMENT?

FAVOURITE SONG YOU'VE WRITTEN?
September Song about my girlfriend that was in the Army during

FAVOURITE SONG SOMEONE ELSE HAS WRITTEN?
I like lots of Big In Iowa songs, Bob's Rewind on the new disc. I

My friend from Austin, TX Troy Campbell has a song out now called "Who's Drivin' " that is really good. ¦Dallas Moore, another friend has a song called "You're wasting good whiskey if you're tryin' to drink me off your mind" that I think is a classic.

All the time, our band is all about that. I also have written with a
few friends of mine.

good comes with time.

FAVOURITE POLITICIAN?
The one who leaves me alone, stays out of my personal habits and lets
others be free to pursue their goals. I don't know that he exists.

LATEST DISC?
Good friends, making good music. We just write the stuff and record
it, I think we are just coming to the point where it all is coming together. Our influences, our playing style, the voices, the feel is developing. I think the songs are creating, or giving off certain moods now happy, sad, ¦light, dark, or dusk not to sound like too much of an artsy-fartsy kinda guy but I think there is an artistic growth that is showing within all of us. Playing for the moment and the song, the mood and feel. Really, it could be said this simply: We're having fun doing our thing, and we hope ya'll like it.

LATEST DISC?

Let me quote Miles of Music. Eclectic and eccentric, Home Groan catches your attention with their quirky humor (songs about space cowboys, Astrodome dweller and fallen kings) but keeps it with their hooks and the harmonies. Playfully utilizing Americana and Celtic music elements, the Home Groan guys create electro-acoustic folk-rock with a country kick that delightfully mix their penchant for the off-beat with heartfelt tunes, like the tender "Kid."
